In Little Village we believe effective ministry happens best through caring and trusting relationships. We want children to see the gospel as well as hear it. If you would like to pour into our littlest ones by loving, serving and teaching them, we would love for you to join our preschool team. Follow the instructions below to begin the process of becoming a part of The Little Village.
Classroom teachers lead the classroom. They keep the children on schedule, implement the classroom curriculum and ensure that the children are safe and well cared for by following the policies of the Preschool Ministry. The most important aspect of this position is building relationships with the preschoolers and their parents. It is the classroom teacher that has the greatest amount of time and influence with the children while they are with us.
Greeters are the first face seen by our guests and members. This position welcomes our parents and assists them in checking in their preschoolers. They also help first-time guests with check-in, direct them to their children's rooms and answer any questions about the Preschool Ministry.
This position oversees and serves the volunteers during a single church service. Coordinators build relationships with their volunteers and are the liaisons for the preschool staff and the church service they coordinate. Coordinators serve as a "manager" of sorts, keeping track of attendance, maintaining teacher-to-child ratios in the classrooms and notifying parents when they are needed during the service.
Lead teachers teach the Bible lessons to our older children (three-year olds through kindergarten). These teachers are a supplement to the classroom teachers. The sole responsibility of the lead teacher is to engage the children in biblical truth by using props, puppets, costumes and drama to make the lesson fun and memorable.
The Village has a growing number of children with special needs. If you have experience working with children with special needs, please to let them know. Please include which campus you attend in your e-mail.
There are a number of "behind-the-scenes" tasks that are vital to the success of The Little Village. A few examples include laundry, room re-stocking, craft preparation and storage organization. These volunteers have weekday responsibilities and are the silent servants of our ministry.
We ask that our volunteers be Covenant Members of The Village, or that they be in the process of becoming a Covenant Member. If you are not yet a member and wish to serve in The Little Village, please e-mail us by using our online contact form and select "Preschool (Little Village)" from the category drop-down menu.
