The primary means of community within The Village Middle School Ministry is home groups. Home groups are intentional efforts to create an atmosphere that causes believers and non-believers to grow in their understanding and application of God's direction in their lives. Because we believe that our students need to connect with each other and with caring adults, we gather them in home groups where we hope to create an environment that fosters deep community, accountability and Christ-centered friendships. Community is where we learn about pursuing Christ and are challenged to live an obedient life.
Every Wednesday night from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
HomeGroup Kickoff will be Sept. 1 in the Highland Village Worship Center. Students will be assigned home groups that night and be introduced to their leaders. The following week, Sept. 8, students will begin meeting in homes.
We meet in members' homes. For security reasons, we do not publish a list of addresses, but you can get more information by using our online contact form and selecting "Middle School" from the category drop-down menu. An e-mail will be sent to the ministry leader who can answer your question(s). You may also contact April White, ministry assistant, at (972) 537-1291. When requesting information concerning home groups please include which grade and school your student is currently in so that our staff may send you correct information on a home group nearest you.
Home groups are led by adult volunteers who have committed time and energy to teaching and challenging middle school students to a deeper Christ-like life by walking in community with each student. All of our leaders have been through a thorough application and interview process including reference and background checks.
Yes. Bring your Bible, a pen and a smile to each meeting. Snacks are usually provided during the meeting.
