Cornerstone Kids (CKids)

CKids is an effort to positively impact the youth of South Dallas. Every Saturday — except the third Saturday of each month — kids, ranging in age from 3 to 16, meet at Cornerstone Baptist Church to do crafts, play games, dance, eat, sing and learn about God. It has a "backyard Bible school" feel with some inner-city twists.

Ways to Serve

• Pray — Pray for Cornerstone Baptist Church and its attending families. Pray that CKids and its volunteers would be effective in sharing the gospel of Christ with the inner-city youth.
• Volunteer — Volunteers are needed to spend time with Cornerstone Kids and to help with the areas listed below weekly. Interested in becoming a volunteer?
• Be a Leader — Both individuals and teams are needed to take leadership of each of the following areas:
  • Big Group Time — teaching a Bible story about the character of God
  • Food — providing a meal for 30 to 40 kids
  • Crafts — designing a craft for all age-groups related to the teaching
  • Games — facilitating outdoor games, such as basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, Frisbee, etc.
  • Goodie Bags — preparing 30 to 40 bags with food, toys, etc. related to Big Group teaching
  • Security — patrolling the area to ensure the youth stay within appropriate boundaries and keep watch over any visitors to the church
