Visiting Our Children's Ministry

Kids' Village

Kids' Village

The Children's Ministry would love to have you join us for a weekend worship service. Kids' Village, our weekend programming for kids in first through fifth grade, is a safe, fun and purposeful place for kids to worship together and to learn more about who God is.

Service Times

Sundays - 9 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Child Check-In

We open 30 minutes before each service begins. Both preschool children and elementary-aged children can be checked in at the same time at either ministry's check-in desk.

While children can be checked in and reserve a space in a group at 30 minutes before each service begins, children may only be dropped off at their small group room 15 minutes before the start of each service and once a leader has arrived at the small group room.

First-time guests will go to Guest Check-in, located at the check-in station nearest the main door ( Download a Map of Our Facilities), and will be asked to fill out a registration card. Upon check-in, parents will receive alpha-numeric security stickers for each child being checked in as well as a check-in key tag. These security stickers will all share a common alpha-numeric code. These tags serve two purposes:

  • Parent Paging — If a child has a medical or behavioral issue, their security number will be displayed in the Worship Center. This alerts parents that their assistance is needed, and that they should return to Kids' Village.
  • Security — Parents must present their portion of the security tag when picking up their child. Children will not be released to any adult without matching security tags.

Regular attenders and Covenant Members of The Village will have the opportunity to receive a check-in key tag to speed up the check-in process. Please ask any greeter or children's or preschool staff member about receiving a key tag when you check your child in at the check-in desk.

Want to be ahead of the game?

If you plan on visiting Kids' Village for the first time, please download our registration card, fill it out and bring it with you.

What to Expect in Kids' Village

Here is a snapshot of what kids will experience in Kids' Village:

Opening Activities

This is the first stop for kids after they have checked in. Opening activities provide an opportunity for kids and leaders to connect through games, challenges and discussion questions. Kids are in opening activities until five minutes after the hour, and then they head to worship.

Worship

This is our time to teach through singing and having fun. Most of our songs, led by a live band, are based on our memory verses. All first through fifth graders are together during worship. It is often loud, always fun and may or may not occasionally include water guns.

Large Group

This is where our key point for the weekend is introduced and comes to life through storytelling, drama and object lessons. All first through fifth graders are together during large group teaching. This fall, Kids' Village will look at attributes of God the Father - that He is wise, generous, loving and good — and learn how His children respond to Him.

Small Groups

This is where kids connect with new friends and great leaders as they engage in Bible study. Kids are placed in small groups according to their grade and gender. All small group leaders have been carefully trained and background checked, and they serve at the same service every weekend.

Picking Up Your Children

Parents will pick their children up from their small group room. This is the same room where they were initially dropped off. Pick up requires the parental portion of the security tag received during check-in. Parents will show their tag to who is wearing a green Kids' Village shirt. The leader will then match the numbers and release the child to the parent. Upon check-out, parents can pick up a set of Family Resource discussion questions that we hope will help them follow up with their kids about what was discussed in Kids' Village. Visit our Family Resource section to find the discussion questions from this past weekend.

Children with Special Needs

We welcome children with special needs at The Village. In order to effectively minister to your child and make sure they have a great time in Kids' Village, please , and you will be contacted by our Special Needs Ministry.
